Master Tool & Die, Inc. officials announced this week that the manufacturer will expand in Kingsport. Master Tool & Die plans to invest $557,500 for facility upgrades and create 25 jobs at its operation in Sullivan County.

“I’d like to thank Master Tool & Die for its commitment to create 25 jobs in Sullivan County,” Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe said. “In Tennessee, we’re fortunate to have a skilled workforce that is capable of meeting the needs of our existing businesses. I look forward to the continued growth of Master Tool & Die in Kingsport and the valuable contribution this homegrown company will have on Sullivan County in the years ahead.”

Founded in Kingsport in 1988, Master Tool & Die provides custom CNC machining, welding, fabrication and other services for businesses throughout the Southeast U.S.

To meet growing demand, Master Tool & Die will add new equipment and upgrade its existing facility in Kingsport. Master Tool & Die plans to fully staff its first shift within the next year, positioning the company to support a full second shift in the future.

“Our goal at Master Tool & Die is to become the highest quality precision machine and fabrication shop in this region,” Adam Newsome, managing director of Master Tool & Die, said. “Our highly skilled existing employees and these machine and facility upgrades will make this goal possible. Additional investments and further utilizing East Tennessee’s talented labor pool will allow us to better serve our customers, our employees and our community.”

“Master Tool & Die’s decision to expand its Kingsport operations speaks volumes about our workforce and pro-business culture,” Kingsport Mayor John Clark said. “We look forward to working with Master Tool & Die and wish them continued success.”
